About Us

Our journey began in early 2016, when the first pickleball clinic was conducted in Cebu. In the years since, hundreds of clinics and tournaments have been conducted and the sport is now played daily by thousands of Filipinos nationwide.

On April 15, 2019, the Philippine Pickleball Sports Association (PPSA) was established to begin formally organizing the sport. Six months later PPSA began doing business as the Philippine Pickleball Federation (PPF) and was recognized by the International Federation of Pickleball (IFP) as the national sports association (NSA) for the Philippines.

Although the 2020 pandemic stalled all tournaments and halted most play, it did not slow our efforts to organize the sport regionally. We teamed up with a number of our regional neighbors to organize the first continental federation and today are recognized as a founding member of the Asian Federation of Pickleball or AFP. (

In 2022 after months of negotiations, PPF joined the USA, Canada, Mexico, England, France, Australia, Czech Republic and Spain to withdraw from the IFP. The ongoing feud between the presidents of the IFP (now IPF) and WPF had been frustrating efforts to unify the sport for far too long, so the sport demanded change.

Today, after two years of intense effort a new governing body has being established to unify the sport. PPF is and has been directly involved in this international unification effort, and in spite of much disinformation, will soon make an announcement regarding the new entity and our direct affiliation and membership.

On August 2023 The Philippine Pickleball Federation joined over two dozen countries including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and others representing approximately 90% of the world's pickleball players to organize the GPF, a single worldwide governing body that embraces the democratic principles of good governance as defined by GAISF and the IOC, and is member driven, transparent and fully accountable.
A new Asia Pickleball Association is being formed by members of the GPF, that will also be inclusive, transparent and fully accountable to its members. We will announce details of this and more developments over the coming months as we continue our efforts to organize and unify the sport globally. For questions or to join the new continental federation, please email us at [email protected], or call +63918.926.0981.
